Hard disk is a magnetic disk storage device that stores digital data on rotating magnetic surfaces. These are permanently mounted or fixed in the system and are not removable like floppy disks. The computers operating system and other software are installed on the hard disk. Since, the disk and the drive are usually contained in the same unit, hard disk is also known as hard drive.

Natural Disasters is the least likely cause of data loss however they can kill an entire company. The eruption of natural disasters and the complete equipment failure are rare but they do occur. Although it accounts for around 3% of all data loss but the magnitude of data loss is highest.
